A few examples projects I've worked on
Assignment: Create an event for the San Francisco startup/tech and food communities about the future of FoodTech.
Outcome: Partnered to develop a panel discussion and pitch opportunities for FoodTech startups tackling issues around sustainability and upcycling. Great turnout, delicious food samples and interesting conversations about how to rethink food waste.
Emcee for major
Assignment: Serve as emcee for a 3-night major donor weekend for non-profit organization MAP International.
Outcome: Set the tone for the weekend (friendly, warm, welcoming), introduced speakers, kept the program on time and developed a fun ice-breaker trivia game that at one point got the whole room (60+ people) singing the Gilligan’s Island theme song.
Assignment: Collaborate with a steering committee to create a new Fall-kickoff social event for young professionals.
Outcome: Transformed a blank event space to a Bavarian beer hall with beer, brats, pretzels and snacks. Because the committee wanted a structured way to meet other young professionals, developed a youthful, fun team bingo competition that allowed 50+ to interact and have fun.
Assignment: Elevate the annual 5-day staff and family conference (170+ attendees) to an experience that parents and kids would enjoy and anticipate the whole year.
Outcome: Created new age-appropriate programs for children and teenagers run by teams of dedicated volunteers. Introduced a family field day competition and talent show. Parents are now sure their children are well attended when they are in meetings. Staff kids say the conference is one of the highlights of their summer.
Assignment: Upgrade the flagship collegiate student conference in appeal, quality, and reach.
Outcome: Drove rebranding and oversaw new social media outreach. Secured state-of-the art production team and recruited compelling speakers resulting in positive attendee feedback.
Urban Cowboy Party
Assignment: Create a unique birthday experience for native Texan in NYC.
Outcome: Ideated and realized an urban cowboy-themed event with real mechanical bull at the Ace Hotel. The only mechanical bull ever at the hotel. The staff were amused. Attendees had a blast.
Winter Staff Conference
Assignment: Restructure key internal conference to improve efficacy and staff feedback.
Outcome: Collaborated with key leaders to shift conference to primarily professional development. Secured speakers and created workshops that met felt needs of employees and furthered the goals of the organization. Put in place informal social opportunities to build camaraderie. Staff were better equipped and were grateful for opportunities to learn and grow.
